Preparing for Uni Program: Guidance for Non-School Leavers

Are you a non-school leaver looking to boost your career and shape your future through university study?
ACU has created a unique program to help you to take the next step in your journey.
The Preparing for Uni Program: Guidance for Non-School Leavers consists of three online workshops* and a face-to-face campus visit, giving you a smoother and less stressful transition to university study.
Run over four consecutive weeks in May 2025, the program will allow you to hear real-life experiences from diverse non-school-leaver students, gain essential skills for study success, and receive expert advice on navigating the application process.
In the first webinar of the series, you’ll hear inspiring stories from current non-school-leaver students, including a first-time student, a career changer, and a First Nations student. You’ll also gain practical guidance on the application process, including fees, scholarships and enrolment.

In this online workshop, you’ll get hands-on experience with ACU learning systems like Canvas and gain an understanding of our approach to supporting first year students with ACU Thrive . You’ll also learn proven strategies for managing your time, so you can balance your study and life commitments, and excel at university and beyond.

This session covers the academic skills you need to thrive at uni. You’ll learn the basics of essay writing, referencing, and using support services to help you to succeed in your studies.

Join us at your local ACU campus to meet staff and current non-school leaver students, explore our facilities, and receive personalised support on your university application.
Food and drinks will be provided, and travel support is available for eligible participants**.
Those who can’t make this face-to-face session will be offered a one-on-one consultation to have any further questions about studying at ACU answered.
